HANGARI

The sound installation “HANGARI” was created as part of the Artist Residency Program Namwon in 2016. In cooperation with Namwon Sound Artists Residency and Namwon Cultural City Commity

It deals with reflections of the traditional Korean pottery vessel “Hangari” in which various forms of kimchi are stored.

Recordings from the Namwon area were used as a sound source. Through the resonances that occur in the Hangari vessel, the sound is amplified in certain frequency.

The method of sound manipulation is based on the classical electroacoustic work “I am sitting in a room” by Alvin Lucie.
